Abrahamic Religions

There are approximately seven Abrahamic Religions that I researched during this collection's
curation: Judaism, Christianity. Islam, Baha Faith, Druze. Rastafari, + Samaritanism.
As assumed, Judaism, Christianity, + Islam are the most notable religions and it is interesting how
they relate because of Abraham. Islamic tradition states that the twelve Arab tribes, known as the Ishmaelites, descended from Abraham through his son, Ishmael (by Hagar). In Judaism + Christianity, the Twelve Tribes of Israel descended from Abraham's son Isaac (by Sarah and grandson Jacob, who formed the nation of the Israelites in Canaan.
After the birth of Isaac, Ishmael and his mother were banished to the desert. They, then became minor figures within Judaism + Christianity. But God promised that Ishmael would raise up a nation on
his own - in which he did.

The Real New Year: Spring

Years ago, I read a theory that the Spring Equinox (March 20th, for 2022) is the real beginning of the new year. Ever since reading that, it makes a lot sense. Most Religious celebrations are held as Spring begins, which could also relate to overcoming Winter. I, too, (well am due to Lent), would be spending the entirety of Spring thanking the Lord for letting me "see fit," as the church ladies say.

Flowers begin to blossom as bees come through + pollinate everything (even though it sucks for our allergies!) Mothers day in the US is celebrated + Aries (the first sign of the zodiac) kicks off Spring! Everything around just begins to feel so -- new. I was born in the Spring therefore, I may be a little biased but, Spring is the best time for rejuvenation. Even the Spanish word for Spring, "La Primavera" has Latin root-words for First!

The Hand of Miriam + Fatimah

When Moses, Miriam's baby brother, was set afloat down the Nile River. Miriam watched + waited to see what would become of her brother. Moses was found by Queen Bithiah + Miriam courageously walked up to her + offered to find a Hebrew woman to be Moses wet nurse: who would be his birth mom. Miriam went on to do amazing things during her life such as teaching women the Hebrew Bible (Torah) and songs of praise. When she passed, the water in the well for the Jews dried up; signifying that she was just as important to the greater plan as her brothers. Miriam never reached the Promised Land.


As the daughter of Prophet Muhammad, Fatima was destined to be am illustrious woman. Fatimah was dedicated to her father even traveling with him from Mecca to Medina + caring for him in his last days. In Medina, she found her husband. Through this marriage, she is the reason Prophet Muhammad's family line has survived to present date. Fatimah is not mentioned by name in the Quran but she was present with her father during The Event of Mubahala (a meeting between
Prophet Muhammad + Christian delegation). Fatimah continues to be depicted as the perfect archetype for women.
